MY THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
My Strengths As A Therapist
As a person, I’m a deeply caring human being. As a worker, I am thorough and conscientious. As a psychologist, counsellor and therapist, I would say that my approach is humanistic, holistic and strength-based. I counsel with my “heart” while being able to maintain objectivity, sensibility, rationality, reason and logic in looking at my clients’ issues.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to tune into my clients thoughts and feelings and penetrate deep into the root of their problems and help them get unstuck.
As a competent practitioner with 16 1/2 years of experience in the field of Psychology, Counselling and Mental Health, when we are talking about the area of self-esteem, I am able to help clients heal from their unresolved emotional childhood issues and help them build a new sense of self and a foundation of being that was never there due to absence of proper parenting or positive role modelling.
I am also Existential in my approach. In other words, I am philosophical and creatively intellectual in being able to help clients find meaning in the meaninglessness of their circumstances. June helps a person find meaning in their lives.
I believe the root of most cases of depression, low self-esteem, lack of trust in oneself, having no confidence in oneself, inability to heal from setbacks happen because clients do not love themselves. I am able to take a client on a journey to self-love.
